Hello again!
I recently made a letter art post, though many more pictures have amassed in the good ole’ memory card, so I thought I would empty it until the next time! (which, I almost promise, won’t be a week from this one)
I hope you enjoy!
I love to theme my letters or make everything (inside and out) the same. This letter to my friend Bronwyn I kept the same, using the gold Tombow dual pen 026, and grey one, N89 and the bullet end of a back one to create a shadow effect and I also used the grey one for a border.
I feel like keeping it cohesive and match-matchy makes letters really pretty and there are so many ways to change it up with the lettering and art and styles, so fun!
I love creating wild, fun art on the envelopes. Though, if you’re using waterbased pens, be sure to seal it in something or else it will look like watercolor if it goes through rain–and you might not want that. XD
Hehe. My friend’s name is IrisAnne, so I attempted to make the letters in her name different flowers. Failed attempt? XD
I love using washi tape as borders, and lately I’ve been loving layering two tapes, or even three, for variety in color and shapes. It’s simple, but still fun!
I layered this one as well. I love layering pattern on solid or vise versa. (Thanks to one of my pen pals for sending some silver washi tape. I love it!)
For that letter I used a silver theme, with that same backdrop black shading as the first letter. OH! My brother got me some awesome pen+gear pastel envelopes for Christmas that have a sticky backs so that you don’t have to lick them. *ahhhhhhh* I DIDN’T KNOW THIS MAGIC WAS REAL. If you understand the mucho disgust in licking the envelope, you’ll love these.
This one I just did a basic black font, but I went with a more script font than I normally use. I want to start adding more loops, but I don’t know, they scare me! (:
I went very abstract and bright with this one. I wanted to include bunches of shapes. What do you think?
This one’s pretty simple, another floral theme. This pen pal loves purple, so I tried to include that a good bit(:
I experimented with a circular/abstract/mandala art in watercolor for this one. I really enjoyed the outcome! It was fun creating the shapes.
I wanted to use a yellow envelope for this letter, so alongside the “sunny” (know where I’m going?XD) yellow, I drew a rather sketchy sun. I think it turned out pretty cute! I love yellow.
I wrote my friend Sammi in French, so I addressed it (other than the actual address, I didn’t think the postman would be fluent. XD) in French, alongside a flower. I also use that same technique for a backdrop as before.
I painted this pen pal’s name, but then I thought, “hmm… this needs some color.” VUA LA! Β (is there an actual way to spell that?) Hehe. I just randomly placed oblong shapes in different colors everywhere.
For the entering greeting in a letter like “Dear …” or “Hello, …” I like doing lettering and I usually close with lettering as well.
This one I basically used my Tombow pen as a highlighter and lettered on top and added some random greenery. I did this to a lot of letters because I liked it, but I’l only show this one. It’s fun to do this in different colors. (:
I love using bold washi tapes on the back with matching lettering. Ah, don’t you love washi tapes? β₯
(I use that washi tape combo a lot. XD)
Well, that’s all for now. I hope you enjoyed part two! I hope you’re all having a great day!
Do you like envelope art posts? Would you like to see lettering posts in the future? What’s you’re opinion on kale? Do you like peppermint?
Ahhhh! These are all so pretty! β€π

I used to correspond in cursive with a man in Paradise, California. He did so much art work on the envelope I wondered how the postman could tell where the letter was headed. I need to upload that.

I love all of these! The different colors and lettering combinations are so fun. WHOA, I think I really need those sticky-backed envelopes. I share your disgust. I think it’s spelled voila? Could be wrong though, that’s just what I see most often. The mandala one is so pretty, and I love the one that’s all in yellows π Thanks for sharing your art with us!
