Ways to be Christmassy // A Christmas Themed Post

Well HOwdy! HOw are you doing? I HOpe you’re well!

See what I did there? XD

I have been feeling as if I should be more in a Christmas feeling mood of late. You know how sometimes you get caught up in what you’re doing or what happens in a few months or random things, and you lose track of the season? Well, I do that, and so today I thought I would make a fun post about things that will help you enjoy the Christmas season, and maybe even give you some Christmas spirit!

Now, I know everyone always looks forward to getting gifts on Christmas, but some of the most fun in Christmas is giving! A fun way to give is to write letters to someone you love or know, and decorating them just adds to that. (*post on Christmas mail soon!*) I love doing reds and greens and maybe-a-liitle-bit-over-the-top script *grins cheekily*.

Ahh.. there’s just something about taking a minute to sit down, drink something yummy and warm, maybe by a fire, and read a good book. I have just embarked on “A Christmas Carol” for the first time. Dickens is one of my favorite authors, and so I figured it was about time I read this! Do you have any favorite Christmas books?

Quotes! Verses! Movie lines! Putting fun things around you like this really help with bringing on that Christmas feel. Have any favorites? I know I could choose at least 50 fro Elf and 50 more from the Grinch. Haha, both are so good!

This is kind of completely unrelated but SOCKS! My goodness, they’re my favorite! I’m only not wearing socks when it’s Summer, other than that, I love them! Fun patterns and designs are super fun. Every year at Target I get a weird Christmas pair. Hehe, it’s a fun and useful tradition! My friend and I used to do a Christmas sock exchange, too, that was super fun. What is your favorite tradition?

Journaling, drawing or doodling is a fun way to incorporate some Christmas in the everyday. Check out this post where I made my December bullet journal spread. I really enjoy this for some inspiration and I enjoy the colors! What is your favorite kind of art to do?

My friend Sammi once showed me her room one Christmas season and she had dozens of beautiful paper snowflakes all over her ceiling, and so I tried it and I have done it for years! They’re so fun to make, and I love seeing them on the ceiling. Have you every done this?

I don’t typically go crazy on decorations for my room, but I do love putting lights up! My Dad and I went to Lowes recently, and they are selling 21 ft. strands for 2.99 and I got very excited! They really brighten up a room and make it very festive! Here is a link if you’re interested in doing the same to your room!*

Well, that is all for now! I hope you all enjoyed this little Christmas ideas post, and I hope you have a great day and a Merry Christmas! Stick around for more posts soon, and be sure to leave suggestion for future posts!

What is your favorite tradition? Do you get snow on Christmas? What is your favorite Christmas song? Do you like Candy Canes or Eggnog?

“Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you, he is the Messiah; the Lord. This will be a sign to you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger. Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God saying: Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to those whom he is pleased.”

Luke 2:11-14(:

Christmas Countdown, Day 15

15.png

Hi!

Can you believe there’s only days until Christmas?? Whoa.

Well, today I was thinking I’d do Presents as my topic. Most people get a present or two around Christmas time!

Here are the questions!

Do you open a Present on Christmas Eve?

We do, if we remember(:

How do you open presents? Does everyone take turns, or does everybody open all at once?

We start out taking turns, but we end up opening all at the same time(:

Do you give presents to your whole family from you, or do you only give to certain people, or do you do a Secret Santa?

We all give to each other, but when we get with a lot of family we give to certain folks(:

Let me know what you do! I’d love to hear!

Come back tomorrow!

Christmas Countdown, Day 7

7.png

Welcome!

Today for “Christmas Countdown” I’m posting about gift wrapping!

I know, kind-of a weird topic, eh?

Well, I know a lot of people who wrap gifts differently; Paper, Bags, Tissue, Boxes, ETC.

Well, we wrap in both bags and boxes, but you know how it gets sometimes, the paper “run-out” leads to some creative wrapping ideas (😄)

We also have to wrap very good. We have a snoop my Dad or two in the family, who like to pick up, shake, rattle, spin and examine the gifts under the tree, so we’ve come up with some ways that, if there’s any way that someone could guess what’s in the bag/box, they can’t. (😂)

How do YOU wrap gifts? What do you use?

Christmas Countdown, Day 3

Hey!

Today, for my Christmas Countdown, I’ll be posting some pictures from around my house. We decorated for Christmas on the last day of November, and I hadn’t posted about it yet. so, here ’tis!

IMG_7999.JPG
Outside most of our 2nd level windows we have some wreaths. (Sorry this is so dark!)

IMG_8004.JPG
It has been quite chilly (mainly highs in the 40’s) since Thanksgiving around here! (This morning’s frost)

IMG_8013
As it says: The stockings were hung by the chimney with care… Nope. Not us(: (this is on our bannister)

IMG_8019.JPG
We went very plain with our tree this year. White lights and red ornaments. I think it’s pretty!

IMG_8018.JPG
We recently moved the piano out of the music room (the Guitars went, too, upstairs to the school room)

IMG_8041.JPG
This is what became out of the music room. It’s small, but, it works pretty good for guests!

IMG_8042.JPG
We have a slim-er faux Christmas tree that we put in the “Guest Room” this year(:

IMG_8049.JPG
Ignore the red Tahoe…(:

IMG_8043.JPG
Maisy dropped in to say hello. (She WILL NOT look at my camera! it’s really funny)

IMG_8020.JPG
My brother, Evan and I, each decorated a gingerbread house (or in my case, a village) this is mine..

And this is Evan’s. Oh dear. (;

IMG_8056
We had this window frame on our mantle all year, but my Mom thought it would look good here with a wreath in it. I agree.

IMG_8059.JPG
Maisy really wanted to be in a picture. (even though it’s dark)

IMG_8061.JPG
GUYS. Maisy. Has. A Hat. HAHA! It makes me laugh every time((:

IMG_8064.JPG
She like to only wear it outside(:

IMG_8067.JPG
Our House. We never do much outdoor decor. Mainly only wreaths. (the ones in the gable have lights(: )

IMG_8073
Since it’s Christmas season (and almost winter!) when people get sick, my Mom got these probiotic pouches. They’re delicious! I didn’t want to try them at first, but when I did, I wanted another! They’re like pixy stix, or pop rocks. They’re from Young Living. Try them out!

IMG_8077
(Also from Young Living Essential oils) This is one of my favorite oils. It smells great! Just like a Christmas candle!

Thank You for reading! Come back tomorrow for another “Countdown to Christmas” post!

Christmas Countdown, Day 2

Aloha!

🎶 Mele Kalikimaka is the thing to say on a bright Hawaiian Christmas day..

heehee, That was just me remembering yesterday’s “Christmas Countdown”

Today’s topic is… drumroll please.. CHRISTMAS-Y FASHION!

WOO HOO!

OK, so, some of you might be envisioning a green and red Christmas sweater your great-Aunt Rudy crocheted for you. Is that it? (:

Some of my favorite things to wear at Christmastime are Christmas socks, that pretty much look like Aunt Rudy’s sweaters. But they’re GREAT! (just if you’re wondering, Target has some great pairs in their dollar section(; )

🎶        🎶        🎶

Well… I guess that about wraps this up.

HAH! get it? Wraps this up! because you know, Christmas and you, um, wrap things and, no? OK.

Hee Hee

Christmas Countdown, Day 1.

Hi, Everybody!

There are, umm, let’s check the calendars here, let’s see. There’s about, uh.. 20 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS!??!! Huh? How is that even possible? It seems like 2018 is going (gone) SO fast! Is that just me?

I decided I would do a Countdown to Christmas (or vice versa, hence the name(: ) It will be the first time that i’ve done something like this on a blog, so we’ll see how it goes! It should be fun!

Here’s how it works:

So, The idea is, I’ll post something everyday (hehe, we’ll see how THAT goes!) that is Christmas themed! I love seeing what other people do around the holidays. It’s such a cheerful, festive time of year!

I’ll post little Christmasy snippets (supposedly (: ) everyday, except Sundays. Enjoy!

                                  Birthday-2

Yay! I’m excited to start. For day one, I will be talking about music! Christmas music is a large part of our music. Our Christmas playlists consist of these, mostly:

AMY GRANT

AMY GRANT

AMY GRANT

HANDELS MESSIAH

AMY GRANT

AMY GRANT

AMY GRANT

AND OTHERS, INCLUDING AMY GRANT (;

As you can see, we like Amy Grant’s Christmas music(:

No, really, we do like Amy Grant’s Christmas albums, but we really like listening to Selah’s Christmas album “The Rose of Bethlehem”,too. It’s really very pretty. I like it because they mix some christian songs with popular and traditional music.

We all enjoy the traditional Bing Crosby, Andy Williams, Jackson 5 and such. They’re always good!

I really like Lauren Daigle’s Christmas albums. She has such an amazing, powerful voice!

We all like the Pentatonix Christmas Albums. Oh man, are THEY talented!

What kind of Christmas music do YOU like? Comment below; I’d love to know!

I hope you like my first Christmas snippet for Countdown to Christmas!

What are you doing for the holidays?
