DECEMBER? IS IT REALLY YOU? // BUJO Setup

DECEMBER.png

Wow. Wow. WOw. wOW. WOW!

Guys! It’s DECEMBER! The month of candy canes and songs that include bells and presents and trees and the end of a year… and DECADE! And most importantly, the day we celebrate Jesus’s birth!

So along with that, I have a bullet journal that’s excited to see you for the last time, it’s pages are full of lettering and dates and events and pictures and quotes. 2020 bullet journal is coming, and the 2019 is ready to be shown.

I wanted a simple design, not anything too flashy and big, so I chose candy canes. I decided not to outline them on this first page as to not compete with the lettering and lines. The lettering I chose was black and I stretches the lines from the beginning and end of the pages.

Another thing I wanted to include was Christmas songs. I added little lyrics from a song on most of the pages.

IMG_9063.JPG

I wanted something festive for the habit tracker, so I stuck with the candy cane theme from the first page. Each stripe is the day of the month. My habits this month: Floss teeth, 5+ cups water, Read my bible, and Music Practice.

The next page is the to-do’s, and I used ornaments for the bullet points. I used the same lettering stretched across the pages as in the beginning (it’s throughout).

IMG_9065.JPG

This page I have my progress for my piano students. I really like this to remind me if they paid for multiple weeks and what they’re learning and such. If you’re a teacher, this is very helpful!

The next page is the goals page. I used little peppermints for the bullets again. I wanted include that theme regularly.

IMG_9067.JPG

For my reminders page I used little exclamation points in red. If you’re someone who easily forgets things like me, you will really like a reminders page. Very helpful!

My letter tracker for the month I used red and white ornaments. The little silver knob that holds the hook is what I’ll check off if I’ve emailed the persona letter back. I’m excited to use it!

IMG_9069.JPG

At this point, I was trying to fill a lot of pages with fun Christmassy things. That’s what these next few pages are(:

IMG_9070.JPGIMG_9071.JPGIMG_9075.JPGIMG_9076.JPG

I’m excited to use the page on the right. I wanted to include reading the bible this whole month in order of certain verses, so I chose the Luke version of Jesus’s birth. Chapter 2 of Luke has 52 verses, so I stretched it out over 25 days.

IMG_9077.JPG

These last two pages I have my favorite Christmas songs to sing. People, my Mom started me early on Amy Grant Christmas albums and I haven’t stopped! XD. Iconic Christmas!

The next page I have my money tracker. I actually stopped this and recently resumed for November (Which doesn’t feel like has happened yet, but it’s finished!), and I really like it. It’s helpful to see your monthly income changes and expenses and savings.

IMG_9074.JPG

Well, that about wraps this up! Can you all believe it’s DECEMBER? And happy thanksgiving! I hope you all had a wonderful one. Before you go, here are some fun snowflakes I hung in my room by inspiration from my dear friend Samantha! I love walking in and seeing them. So fun!

Christmas Countdown, Day 17 (The last day!)

17

IT’S CHRISTMAS EVE! How are we here already?!

Well, seeing that it’s the last day of “Christmas Countdown”, which has been super fun, I am going to do a recap of all the fun posts over the last 20 days! (All these words are ricocheting back on me! Have I really posted everyday for 20 days? Wow!)

My First post for Christmas Countdown I introduced you all into what I was doing, then I talked about My Family’s favorite Christmas music. If you would like to read that post, click →here←.

My Second post was “Christmas-y Fashion” 🤣 There wasn’t much to this post, but it was funny! Click here.

My Third post was pictures from around my house that we had recently decorated.   Click here to visit!

My Fourth post was about our favorite Christmas Cookies. Come see it here.

My Fifth post  Was about food (my favorite!) and food traditions. They’d love to have you see them!

The Sixth post was about Christmas Movies we like. It was a fun one. Visit here.

Our Seventh post was on the topic of gift wrapping. I liked this one(: Click here to see it.

The Eighth post was about Christmas fun, and I told what our favorite fun activities are at Christmas. It’s here, if you want to come!

My Ninth post I chose “Events” as the topic. Clickedy Clack over here.

The Tenth post was about Fun Facts! I really liked this one. I learned some things I didn’t know! Check that out here.

The Eleventh post was about weather. I don’t know why I chose this, but I guess it makes sense! (haha!) Here! Click here!

My Twelfth post was about Christmas Cookies (again) because I didn’t do all my favorites justice! Here ’tis!

I had day 13 about Decorations, Day 14 about Christmas Books, Day 15 about presents, and day 16 about some of the art that i’ve done recently.

And today is the Grand Finale! The Eve of Christmas day!

I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!

“Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you, he is the Messiah; the Lord. This will be a sign to you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger. Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God saying: Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to those whom he is pleased.”

Luke 2:11-14(:

Christmas Countdown, Day 16

Hello all!

Are you doing well?

I hope you are!   *hug*

Y’all know how much I love art, and everything that goes with it, (brush lettering, letter art, drawings …) so today I’m posting, for “Christmas Countdown”, some of the things I’ve done in the art category(:

I actually did a post like this last year, and if you would like to see it, click here.

(Warning: I believe my art work and lettering have come a tiny way since last year…😜)

Christmas Countdown, Day 15

15.png

Hi!

Can you believe there’s only days until Christmas?? Whoa.

Well, today I was thinking I’d do Presents as my topic. Most people get a present or two around Christmas time!

Here are the questions!

Do you open a Present on Christmas Eve?

We do, if we remember(:

How do you open presents? Does everyone take turns, or does everybody open all at once?

We start out taking turns, but we end up opening all at the same time(:

Do you give presents to your whole family from you, or do you only give to certain people, or do you do a Secret Santa?

We all give to each other, but when we get with a lot of family we give to certain folks(:

Let me know what you do! I’d love to hear!

Come back tomorrow!

4 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS!

Christmas Countdown, Day 14

14.png

Hello, Readers!

Oh. Oh, Dear me, one…two..three..fo…..FIVE DAYS? Five Days until CHRISTMAS??

How did we get here so fast? Are you excited? I am!

Today I chose “Christmas books” as the topic. Reading books at Christmas time is always something we’ve done since my brother and I were really little.

Here are ten of our favorites:

“The Polar Express” ~ Chris Van Allsburg (there’s also an amazing movie based on this book!)

“The Year of the perfect Christmas Tree” ~ Gloria Houston (Such a sweet book!)

Emmet Otter’s Jug-band Christmas” ~ Russel Hoban (We love this one!)

“Mr. Willowby’s Christmas Tree” ~ Robert Barry (A classic, happily ending story😊)

“Silver Packages” ~ Cynthia Rylant (A good story and a great writer)

The Letter On the Tree” ~ Natalie Savage Carlson (We always enjoy this one)

“The Christmas Miracle of Jonathan Toomey”  ~ Susan Wojciechowski *please don’t ask me to pronounce that* 😂 (We’ve read this every year since I was a baby)

Stephen’s Feast ~ Jean Richardson (This always makes me want to sing the song)

“The Church Mice at Christmas” ~ Graham Oakley (One of my Mom’s favorites)

“A Little House Christmas” ~ Laura Ingalls Wilder (Sweet Stories)

What Christmas books do you like? Do you have any recommendations?

Come Tomorrow!

FIVE DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS!

Christmas Countdown, Day 13

13.png

Hey!

Today for “Christmas Countdown” the topic is going to be…..

DECORATIONS!

My favorite(:

We always, for probably most of my life, Have gone out Thanksgiving night and go a little way down the road and purchase a 7-8 foot Christmas tree. (It’s and 8-9 footer at this house, but at our old house we had to get a 7 foot tree!) We come home and pull all of our Christmas Decorations out of the attic. Ornaments, Garland, Lights, wreaths, Bows, Small trees, and anything else that might be stashed up there(:

This year we also went to Hobby Lobby while they had their Christmas sale and picked up some extra garland and a star and some red ornaments(:

IMG_8019
The tree with the star and red ornaments we bought.

We went with a simple tree this year, using the red ornaments and star, and we decorated the faux tree with our regular ornaments.

The faux tree. (If you would like to see a full house tour, click here)

How do you decorate your house? What kind of decorations do you have? Do you LOVE Hobby Lobby? (:

Come back soon! (or tomorrow!)

Christmas Countdown, Day 12

12.png

Oh! I’m glad you’re here today!

How are you?

Well…..

Today I am going to revisit Christmas Cookies, Because, I mean, who can ever have to many Christmas cookies! (and, I really didn’t do all of my favorites justice😂)

So, when I last posted on this subject was ten days ago. (on the 8th) Not to early to talk about it again!

Last year we made a lot of different kinds. A few include:

the Best Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe Ever

Buttery Spritz Cookies

Easy Sugar Cookies (with frosting!)

Be sure to check those out! (and save one for me!😄)

Some that we’re planning on baking this year are:

Gingerbread Whoopie Pie

Christmas Sugar Cookie bites

Chocolate Covered Oreos

Yum! I can’t wait to make all of those!

What kind of cookies do you like? Do you make cookies?

Come back tomorrow!

ONE WEEK UNTIL CHRISTMAS! 🌲🤯
