Farewell, 2020 // January 2021 BUJO Setup

Wow. It is almost 2021.

Friends, we have experienced much this year. Some had the year very hard, some not too bad, but just because we’ve had a year of extreme uncertainty (and surprise.. heh) doesn’t mean we can’t look forward to and make the best of the new year!

I just wanted to share a bit of encouragement since the past year has left everyone a bit confused and uncertain. I hope you all have had a wonderful holiday and are looking forward to new and exciting opportunities in 2021!

Also… HOW IS IT A NEW YEAR?! It’s been a fast year for me. How about y’all?

I am kind of in that fresh, minimal, simple, organized mood of late (I always tend to get that way for the start of the year) and so I wanted to bring that, of a sort, to my bullet journal. I am taking American Sign Language (ASL) for high school, and for a project I had to draw some of the letters on an online program, but I figured I would try my hand drawing them in my journal! This isn’t on every page, but I do incorporate it wherever I can. This can be copied with any design, but I thought It would be a fun thing to look back on someday.

I used more pastel, “happy” colors and black fine liner to do most of this. (I use similarly colored wash tape later on, too.)

I did a two page spread for the calendar using the same colors and designs. For the day of the week (M, T,W,T,F,S,S, etc..) I sued the fingerspelling alphabet letter. Takes up space, but fun!

Right up front I made my year-at-a-glance layout. I like doing this at the beginning of the year to see the day layouts for the year, and to put the important dates up in front.

I wanted to do a vision board for 2021, which is all the things I enjoy or want to enjoy. Also, to bring inspiration.

The left page I made a month goals and a to do section. I just made simple lists and the use of the same colors, and some fingerspelling above the label saying the same.

On the other page, I have a quote, “You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.” by Zig Zigler. I tried to use a scratchy type of lettering for a faded look. It worked out perfectly, because I have a dying Tombow Fudenosuke pen I have been using. XD

On the left, I have the usual habit tracker layout of four month overview grids and I used the same pastels and title/ASL translation in fingerspelling.

The right side has the first weekly log, with the date numbers(1st, 2nd, etc) in ASL. I used the same font and colors.

I continued this layout (though the font is moved to the middle) for the second week of January.

On the next page, I have my “Big Goals” for 2021. These are the ones I really want to complete, though I have a separate section for the more detailed goals.

The next is the very same weekly log layout. Same everything, actually. Sometimes doing the same weekly logs keeps things simple.

On the next page, I have a very simplified version of my money tracker than usual (you can see what I usually do here) to keep with the simple idea.

These next two pages are reading focused. The left page is a layout for books I WANT to read, and the right page is books I WILL read. I put them together last year and it helped to have them close to each other.

These next two pages I finish my weekly logs for the month, and have a month recap on the right.

I’m not exactly sure what happened for the left page. I had originally planned it to be something else but it went in a different direction. Anywho.. There is a quote on this page, and on the other page a gift ideas and wishlist section. Often throughout the year I think of things I might need or want to get for others, etc.. so I have a page I can add things on throughout the year.

This is the section of resolutions or goals for the year. I made a wide and cropped dutch-door layout for the different categories in my goals. I have about 8 sections total. I love making the big goals, then making smaller ones to accomplish.

For the last two pages, I have my mail tracker in the same theme colors.

On the next (and last) page, I have a “Farewell to you January!” doodle.

I hope y’all have had a wonderful holiday season and I wish you the best for 2021!

Are you hopeful for 2021? What are your goals and hopes? What dreams do you have for this year? Are you bullet journaling for this year? What is your favorite color category (pastel, neon, etc.)?

FA LA LA LA LAAAA // December Bullet Journal Setup

Wow. It’s been awhile! I don’t know about all of you, but these past few Fall months have seemed to go by at an alarming rate. I planned three posts for November and managed only one before December came barging in. Oh boy!

I plan to do better this month. I want to post as much as I can in 2020! Can y’all believe there are only 29 days left in the year, as of today? And only 23 days until Christmas! I don’t know how y’all are feeling, but it seems as when you get to be a teenager or young adult that everything goes 10 times faster than when you were 11. I remember waiting and waiting and waiting for Christmas for what seemed to be months, and now I can barely even remember what I did a few minutes back because it went so fast!

Well, I have been planning my December spread for quite awhile, and I am pleased to be plopping it on here now! I hope you all enjoy, and let me know which part is your favorite!

For this month, I had planned a few different ideas, and I just liked the poinsettias best. I mean, what says Christmas more than red and green?

I did the flowers and leaves pretty simple, no clean or finished lines and no smoothness of color. I like it better this way if I’m using a more fancy script. I added a bit or plaid wash tape for some extra texture as well.

I did a two-page layout for the calendar, mainly because the December month is usually the craziest and most full of the 12. I continues the similar theme throughout this page.

On the next page, I used red, green and gold ornaments for my goals, to dos and reminders categories.

On the other side, I did the poinsettias again and then my four habit trackers in gold.

The first weekly log alternates from ornaments to poinsettias in different colors, with gold to divide the columns. I quite like the simplicity, it helps me to think better when I’m not distracted. (Do y’all get distracted by things easily?)

On the right I have my Christmas chopping list page. I’m quite excited to fill this out!

On this page, I have the letter tracker for the month with gold boxes and poinsettias.

On the right, I have another weekly log, this time a bit more… colorful. XD

Here is another more simple weekly log. I quite like this one as well. I enjoy bigger writing spaces, too.

On the right, I have a Christmas bucket list. I make these every year, they’re always so fun to complete!

Then, I made a compact weekly log of only 5 days, and I added a to do section to this one. This mostly uses a gold paint pen.

On the right, a quote! I love throwing these in there. I used all of the textures and designs throughout to complete this one.

On this page, I have a list for where I will invite folks to a neighborhood party we have. I’m not sure how the turnout will be this year, but I still made a list!

On the right, I have the completion of the weekly logs for 2020. This has poinsettias and red.

On this page, a bible verse/quote. I love this one!

On the right, I have a money tracker for this month. I quite prefer this layout, it helps me to see everything very well and be able to go back and track things.

What did y’all thing of this spread? Let me know!

I hope you’re all doing well and have Christmas decorations up and are enjoying the start to the holiday season!

What is your favorite part about December? What did you do for Thanksgiving? Do you like Icecream? What is your dream job?

My Envelopes Have… Hearts On Them? // Valentine’s Envelope Art

The Hearts Are Everywhere!

GGRRREEEETTTIIINNGGGSSS!!

Valentine’s day is near, and while it’s not a heavily celebrated holiday here, I did want to make a few envelopes that resembled the day.

Most of them were quite simple. This one below I did little hearts all over a brown envelope, but I wanted a bit more color. I’ve been really liking the look of torn edges (well, it depends what it’s on. XD) so I tore a bit of pink scrapbook paper and used double-sided tape to apply it to the middle. I ripped a few pieces of washi tape and added it in various areas of the ripped paper, for a bit more color. I addressed it on the scrapbook paper, too.

I’ve been doing this in different colors and shapes, too, it’s really cute and fun!

IMG_0144

I did a similar thing for this envelope. I took a lot of peach/pink colors and went a teensy bit crazy with hearts (heh), and since it was a cream envelope, I tore a piece of sketchbook paper (white) and used double-sided tape to apply. I added some black washi tape for a bit of contrast and also some gold stickers.

IMG_0142

I wanted a bit more of a simple approach, so I just used big letters in silver and then used a lot of different heart stickers I had. I think this turned out cute and I like that some of them are the puffy stickers and you can feel the different shapes.

IMG_0155

This next envelope is mainly lettering, with the addition of some hanging hearts. My favorite part of this is how easy it was. I just continued some of the lines on her name into hearts. I also put the address in between her first and last name, for fun.

IMG_0269

aaaAAAhh.. I went a bit wild. XD

This one I started out with her name and did a bit of a gradient and a drop shadow. I needed to add something to the left so that it would even out everything, so that’s why there’s one massive red heart over there. (:

I thought it would be fun to do “confetti” hearts around the name. What do you think?

IMG_0147

Heh, I also used a clear glitter Gelly Roll pen to add shimemr to the big heart.. because… because…IMG_0148

This was a throwback to last year’s Valentine’s day post, (go check it out!) though, instead of a 3D paper look I used some red felt/foam paper to do the heart balloon. I also added some clouds.

I went with a more elegant lettering style; I quite like the outcome!

IMG_0153

I went very simple with this one, a heart shaped balloon and brush lettering. I like how simple and cute it became.

IMG_0159

I made another “hanging heart” illustration. I made a wreath shape and just went around and around with a black pen and then threw in some hearts. This turned out one of my favorites. (:

IMG_0267

On the back of one of the envelopes I did some more hanging hearts from the seal of the letter down. Simple, but fun!

IMG_0270

I thought crystals might be fun, not necessarily Valentine’s themed, but pink and purple(:

IMG_0271

ALAS! HURRAH! The snow came to GA for a day and a half, so here are a few pictures from that. It snowed four days ago and was gone the next day. Guess what? it’s 64º right now. *flabbergasted*

The Camera Shall Not Be Forgotten! // Recent Photography

Letter Art-2.png

Hello There!

Boy, I can’t remember the last time I did a photography post. I felt it was long overdue! I have pictures from November and December here. They’ve been piling up! I hope you enjoy.

Ah, back when there was color in the trees! I miss it, though I look forward to when everything buds and blooms, it’s just as beautiful!

IMG_8751.JPG

IMG_8750.JPG

DON’T DO THIS IF YOU DON’T LIVE ON A SLOW COUNTRY ROAD! xD Not the safest… but I liked the yellow with the red. (:

IMG_8754.JPGIMG_8753.JPG

This was one of those weird November days where you’re not sure if it’s cold or warm, it’s cloudy, no wind, etc. A perfect time for a tree photoshoot! XD

IMG_8757.JPG

IMG_8762.JPGIMG_8774.JPGIMG_8778.JPG

See what I have to put up with? Haha, Maisy was enjoying it as much (if not more, it seems) as I was.

This was a separate day. Isn’t this stretch just gorgeous? IMG_8901.JPG

One of my friends I was with is a gymnast, so she hopped in the picture and did some fancy thingI don’t know the nam of. So cool!

IMG_8904.JPGIMG_8908.JPGIMG_8882.JPG

The moon was something shining in my room one night, so i thought I’d take a photo of it. Isn’t the moon amazing?

IMG_8918.JPGIMG_8915

Lastly, I did a photoshoot with my piano teacher’s baby. Hehe.

IMG_8922.JPGIMG_8945.JPGIMG_8952.JPGIMG_8949.JPG

I was there for piano lessons, so my teacher let her sit with me. *melts*IMG_8958.JPGIMG_9141.JPG

Well, I hope you enjoyed! Let me know if you like these types of posts, and what you’d like me to post more of this year!

Well, Hello, 2020! // January Bullet Journal Setup

DECEMBER-2.png

Well… 2020. You have a ring to ya!

Happy New Year, friends!

Have you ever accidentally taking a break? Well, I believe that hath happened to me the fine December past. XD Whoops!

Well, I’m back now, and I have a new bullet journal I really wanted to break in.

To start out, I want to show you my 2020 bujo! I’m thinking of a name, any suggestions?

I really wanted an Archer and Olive bullet journal. They’re just so beautiful, but they were constantly sold out, and they came back in stock the other day, but I wouldn’t have gotten one until mid-way through January, so maybe next year!

I found, after searching for “like journals” I found this Tekukor bullet journal on Amazon. Actually, i’m very well impressed. It’s very much similar to the A+O bullet journals: cloth cover with gold embossed design, 160 gsm paper (Ahh) and 192 dot grid pages. And it came in two days! (Can we take a moment to appreciate Amazon prime??)

If you’re thinking about getting a bullet journal, so far this, and Minimalism Art, are great ones!

IMG_9637.JPG

There’s always that one first page where only one side has dots, so I just put a opening page. I used a black Tombow dual brush pen, a hard tip (my sweet) Tombow fudenosuke brush pen, and a white signo broad gel pen.

IMG_9597.JPG

I added a short quote to start off the year, “Do what you can, with what you have, where you are” by Roosevelt.

To the right I have my “year at a glance” page.

IMG_9599.JPG

I use certain color for different things, such as Holidays, Events, and Birthdays. It’s also helpful for me to see what days are on what days of the week and such. I refer to it a lot throughout the year, it’s very helpful!

img_9602.jpg

Ah, now January, at last!

I used a little flower theme I made up I call “September” (you can see it here). I liked it best from 2019, so I chose it again for January. I put my calendar to the right, though I only fit 24 squares on the one page so could have enough room.

IMG_9605.JPG

I stretched the remaining days over to the next pages. Since I had extra room at the bottom, I put the goals froms the month of January down there, and added the same leaves as in the previous page.

My habits for the month (to the right) include 5 or more cups of water, reading my bible daily, practice all my instruments *sweats*, and my daily skin routine.

IMG_9612.JPG

I made a “to do” page and a “reminders” page side by side. I like how neat and simple it looks (now, at least. XD)

IMG_9617.JPG

This is my monthly money tracker, I started this in November and I really like it. It’s helpful to see the amount I spend and save.

IMG_9618.JPG

I made a page for books I want to read in 2020, so I’m hoping the books on these shelves will all have titles soon! I made this page into bookshelf form. It makes me happy to glance upon.

IMG_9621.JPG

My January letter tracker has the same green vine as the opening page, but otherwise, it’s fairly simple! I check the little “stamp” in the corner when I’ve responded. It’s very helpful for me, I often get lost in responding quickly or knowing if  I have or not. I wonder if I’ve ever sent a pen pal two letters with the same content. XD

img_9625.jpg

This is a new page I’ve added to my bullet journaling. I needed something to help me track savings, and what I’m saving for. I hope to meet my goals by 2021!

IMG_9626.JPG

My last pages are (left) my January blog post ideas page. I have a lot of ideas for the new year, but please be sure to let me know what you want to see! the next page, instead of “resolutions” I put 2020 hopes. (I don’t know, something about the word resolutions…)

IMG_9628.JPG

I hope y’all enjoyed seeing this, and let me know what you’re looking forward to for 2019–no, (ugh, we’re in for about 4 months of this. XD) 2020!

I hope you’re having a wonderful day!

“Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you, he is the Messiah; the Lord. This will be a sign to you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger. Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God saying: Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to those whom he is pleased.”

Luke 2:11-14(:

Hello all!

Are you doing well?

I hope you are!   *hug*

Y’all know how much I love art, and everything that goes with it, (brush lettering, letter art, drawings …) so today I’m posting, for “Christmas Countdown”, some of the things I’ve done in the art category(:

I actually did a post like this last year, and if you would like to see it, click here.

(Warning: I believe my art work and lettering have come a tiny way since last year…😜)

3 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS! (←Whoa! What?!)

~theJunebugblog

Christmas Countdown, Day 15

15.png

Hi!

Can you believe there’s only days until Christmas?? Whoa.

Well, today I was thinking I’d do Presents as my topic. Most people get a present or two around Christmas time!

Here are the questions!

Do you open a Present on Christmas Eve?

We do, if we remember(:

How do you open presents? Does everyone take turns, or does everybody open all at once?

We start out taking turns, but we end up opening all at the same time(:

Do you give presents to your whole family from you, or do you only give to certain people, or do you do a Secret Santa?

We all give to each other, but when we get with a lot of family we give to certain folks(:

Let me know what you do! I’d love to hear!

Come back tomorrow!

4 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS!
